Tree of Faith, Hope & Love & Operation Outreach
This is the 15th year for Tree of Faith, Hope & Love - Donation Drive for the Holidays for our Homeless Patients. For the last 20 years, Christ Community Health Services and Baptist Healthcare have partnered together to bring healthcare to those individuals without permanent housing through the program Baptist Operation Outreach. The walk in clinic and a mobile unit provide acute and primary care, mental health services, disease prevention information and guidance to all of those in need. Patients also have access to free medication, free transportation to and from medical appointments as well as vision and dental services. Currently more than 2800 patients utilize the services annually.
You can bring light and comfort to a homeless person in need this holiday season by donating to Tree of Faith, Hope & Love. On December 13th your gifts and along with a war lunch will be distributed to those in need.
Your donations will go directly to purchasing items for our homeless clients including warm under garments and accessories needed for the winter months like unisex thermals, socks, scarves, hats and gloves, blankets and toiletries.
Operation Outreach
Baptist Operation Outreach is a free mobile healthcare clinic that serves individuals and families without permanent housing. It is operated by Baptist Memorial Health Care and Christ Community Health Services, and has been a member of the Community Alliance for the Homeless since 2005. This mobile clinic, one of the largest healthcare providers for the homeless in Memphis, offers free acute and primary care, disease management support, medication, prevention information, and transportation to and from medical appointments in Shelby County and surrounding areas. The clinic is staffed by a licensed physician and nurse practitioner, and provides patients with direct and immediate access to care and referral services.
In 2019, Baptist Operation Outreach expanded the mobile clinic to include a primary health care clinic location inside of Memphis Catholic Charities at 1325 Jefferson Ave. This location is open three days a week — Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays — from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Baptist Operation Outreach mobile clinic continues to visit churches and other areas with large homeless populations upon request, including the following locations:
Baptist Operation Outreach is funded through contributions from Baptist Memorial Health Care, Christ Community Health Services, Tennessee's Health Care Safety Net, the Health Resources and Services Administration and private individuals.
